<description>This is the place for performances of original songs and stories by Eileen Hemphill-Haley, the EHH Band, and some incredibly talented guest artists. It’s all-original grange rock and Americana music from the northcoast of California, with just the right amount of mythomania. New episodes usually added sporadically, when the mood strikes. Stick it on a back shelf?&#13;Forget you ever had it, now that it’s yours?&#13;&#13;Verse 1&#13;You’d think that I was some big novice, that I had never played the game&#13;That I never knew the dark side of love, and that disappointment is its name&#13;I know that I was foolish to be so honest&#13;I know that that was my mistake&#13;But once my mouth had found the accelerator, it couldn’t seem to find the brake&#13;So tell me…&#13;&#13;Chorus 2&#13;What’re you gonna do with it?&#13;Are you gonna run with it?&#13;What’re you gonna do, now that you have my heart?&#13;Throw it in the back seat, leave it down some dark street&#13;Drive off and forget it, now that it’s yours?&#13;&#13;Verse 2&#13;I thought that I was seeing signals&#13;Now I see how I was wrong&#13;When you confuse the truth with something it’s not&#13;Believe me, you are too far gone&#13;I hope you will forgive me for getting nowhere&#13;And thinking you might want to go&#13;One too many doses of wishful thinking&#13;And things you don’t need to know&#13;&#13;Verse 3(b)&#13;Now I know there’s honest and then there’s foolish&#13;And a lot of country in between&#13;And a red light is a red light in any language&#13;So don’t interpret it as green&#13;&#13;Verse 4(b)&#13;Next time that you see me, don’t you worry&#13;I’ll be casual and calm&#13;Just because I love you, it’s not your burden&#13;And I think it’s best we just move on&#13;But I wonder…&#13;&#13;Last chorus&#13;What you gonna do with it? &#13;Are you gonna run with it?&#13;What you gonna do, now that you have my heart&#13;Drop it in your pocket, stick on some back shelf&#13;Forget you ever had it&#13;Now that you have my heart&#13;</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Here’s a clip from a DVD, produced by our very own Michael Proctor (dobro player for the EHH Band), that shows the EHH Band playing for the farmers and folks in downtown Arcata, California, at the wonderful Northcoast Farmer’s Market. The song we’re playing is “That Wicked Woman,” from the Porch Songs CD. You know, I really do love the local farmers, and the organic produce and hand-made crafts, but God almighty I wish the gig started a little later in the day. Still, I think we do a pretty good job of rocking out, because in truth no matter when we have to show up, we’re there to play.&#13;&#13;For a bit of historical perspective, Arcata is the college town where my husband, Mark, and I met in the early 1980s. A number of times during the video, you can see the sign for Arcata Liquors in the background, where Marked worked as a student (he’s now a professor). A few doors down from that you can catch a glimpse of the front door to the bar where I sat nursing a bruised eye on my 22nd birthday (don’t worry, the story behind that is actually pretty funny). And now, continuing with the alcohol theme, I couldn’t help but notice in the video -- towards the end, when you see a woman dancing along by herself -- a young fellow passing by with a beer in his hand. For crying out loud, it was only 10 a.m.! What’s more, I don’t recall him offering anything to the band.&#13;&#13;Thanks to Michael Proctor for creating the DVD of the EHH Band at the Northcoast Farmer’s Market. &#13;</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>This video segment, by scientist, cinematographer, and award-winning photographer Thomas Dunklin, shows some absolutely heroic efforts to save a population of endangered salmon while their spawning stream was blocked by a poorly designed road. This particular location -- which isn’t all that terribly far from where I live -- was part of a large and successful restoration effort in northern California to redesign road crossings that blocked fish from passing upstream to their spawning grounds. Check it out -- I found it absolutely inspirational. It shows the kind of positive impact that smart, caring people can have on the environment, even if it is just one tiny stream at a time. The guys in the band and I were happy to donate some background music for the project (Thomas used the instrumental tracks for “Mira” for this segment). &#13;&#13;The title of the complete video is “Fish Passage Success Stories: A Positive Cumulative Effect in Fisheries Restoration,” 2005, published by the California Department of Fish and Game and Thomas B. Dunklin Productions. For more information about the video, or to contact Thomas, or to view much more of his incredible photography, visit his web site: www.thomasbdunklin.com</itunes:summary>
